I logged into the Mac App store to see if the deleted items stayed deleted--looks like it worked! I found the option applies to the iTunes App Store as well. Click the home button and you will see a Purchased (new) option on the right side.

Mac App Store For Windows
If developers can easily port their iPad apps to the Mac, and users can download the iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions all with a single purchase, you might see a huge jump in Mac apps. All the sudden, the incentives lean much more heavily in Apple’s favor, unless you already have a dedicated Mac app already. If you can cut the development costs of designing, building, and maintaining entirely separate Mac and iOS apps, giving Apple a cut may still save you money.
